Loris, SC---
Governor Mark Sanford has appointed Chuck Mills, M.D to the Board of Commissioners that governs Loris Community Hospital District.  Mills fills the vacancy created by Robert Ziff, MD, FACOG.  Dr. Ziff resigned from the board when he moved to Columbus, Ohio.

Dr. Mills, a native of Tabor City, has been practicing with Southern Medical Associates of Loris since 1989.  He also serves as the medical director for Loris Extended Care Center.  Dr. Mills has also recently been appointed to serve on the local advisory committee for BB&T.   Dr. Mills is the son of Lynwood Mills and Doris Mills of Tabor City.  He is an active member of Tabor City Baptist Church, and resides in Loris with his wife, Kim, and their two daughters.

Dr. Mills, a board-certified family physician, graduated from Elon College and received his medical degree from East Carolina University Medical School.  He completed his residency at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, NC.

“I am honored to have been chosen to serve on the Loris Healthcare System board,” said Mills.  “I look forward to the challenges ahead and working with a board that is dedicated to enhancing the healthcare available to the residents of the communities we serve.”

The Loris Community Hospital District, also known as Loris Healthcare System, includes Loris Community Hospital, Seacoast Medical Center, Family Health Centers, Loris Extended Care Center, and the Center for Health & Fitness.  Loris Healthcare System is a not-for-profit health system serving northern Horry County as well as southern Brunswick and Columbus counties.
